We are trying to build a '36 Diamond T - using the chassis/engine from a '91 Dode 3/4 ton 2WD pickup.
We need front wheels with the max backspacing we can get - hopefully in a budd-style 19.5 wheel so it has a 'mini truck' look (stock DT wheels are 20''). We ordered some 19.5 x 6.75 Dodge wheels and they definitely won't work - they are way too wide and don't clear the upper a-arm - but also don't even clear the caliper. We had tried 19.5 x 8 GMC wheels and they cleared the calipers and the a-arms fine - but the mounting surface was totally flat and the lug holes in the GMC wheels were larger than othe Dodge lugs (so they would not have mounted safely/correctly since they need to be lug-centric. So, we're at a loss - I'm thinking maybe our best option would be to try to put larger lugs on the dodge so we can use GMC wheels? I just can't think of any other options other than custom wheels (or the 8-10 lug adapters that cost an arm/leg).
