look what my friend brought home..... Anyone here recognize this car? Looks to have been customized many moons ago. It should be back from media blasting tomorrow...surprise surprise :D[;)
Looks like the initial hackjob was never finished and there`s a lot of structural work to be done, but dam! I love the lines on this thing!:cool::cool:

It came with most parts and will probably be restored rather than ratrodded.
Plan is shiny black ,deep body colored steelies with dog dishes, red interior and an LS3 / 6sp auto....

Looks like I`ve got something to do at least till Christmas... :p

Definitely some neat lines on it! Keep us posted on the progress!

If we knew your location or even where the car came from, we might be more likely to find someone with information about it :)

I`m in the Netherlands and I think the car was imported here maybe 10 yrs ago by the p.o. I`ll check the documents for leads.

not sure about the frame. I`m not sure if the frame in the pics is the one that came with the car. My friend and owner of the car said it`s supposed to be on its Original frame. I only saw the frame in the dark so...

I`ll post some more and better pics soon. Not sure when I can start building this beauty yet ,as I will start a 54 truck project first in January. As soon as this 64 e-type has left the building....

Will the e-type be leaving in a cloud of tire smoke? [P

Scratch that, it's English, maybe electrical fire smoke? [ddd[ddd

Of course I'm joking, it looks like you're doing an awesome job on it!

lol! well if it were mine I`d hotrod the hell out of it.... crazy high top ,way too much glass and massifly underpowered... I bet I could wrap it around a 426.... :D

well, Some pics of the car somewhat assembled surfaced... lt has been yard art for a while at an import/export company in Buffalo Texas. Looks butt ugly to me... but, that means room for improvement

Blasting revealed so many issues, it`s not even funny... ( pics dont do justice to misery...lol ) imo all exterior panels are toast, roofpanel is thin as newspaper in many places, door panels and frames have serious cut and rust damage, I hate the way the A-pillars were bent backwards, no inner structural panels in the roof ,or qrts that are actually structural....etc,etc. It has been sectioned, chopped, shortened in the most terrible way. Too much too, I wonder if it`s even possible to get a seat in that will leave any headroom. It still sits way high on the frame, so it will have to come down even more....

Not sure what the idea behind the cuts in the doors and qrts are all about...? I can see this turn into a pretty wicked rat, but the owner still wants to turn this pile into a shiny black rod....

I love the styling and what they were shooting for. Maybe the craftsmanship was poor (as was often the case back then) but all of the ideas are great. They looked at the whole package, chop, channel, section? but I especially like the raised fenders, something you hardly ever see done now days. Much cooler than what so many do now, bag it and throw on some huge ugly wheels and think it's a custom.

oh yes, I agree with that. Especially the rear looks stellar. The front not so much imo... I think the hood is sitting too low compared to the fenders... this also creates the problem of no space for the engine... at least not under the hood...
boatload of $$$.... heck yea... :D[P j/k.

Looks like some started to make a full blown custom out of it.
The hood sits so low because it looks to me from the pics that they pancaked it which is not unusual for a car that has been sectioned.
The extended rear fenders also give more of the look of a Buick from the same year.
Sitting on the right frame at the right ride level would do wonders for the overall look of it.
