In a camper down at the shop
we're having a hell of time trying to get the steering wheel off the shaft.
Is there some sort of trick?
It's out of a 1948 IHC PU truck [S

Looks like the shaft is hollow?

Just a suggestion. Find a block of brass or aluminum to cover the top of the tube/threads and hit it with an air hammer. (I assume you soaked it in PB or WD40).

ya it's hollow. We turned a piece of brass to fit just right, smacked it twice and bent the heck out of it. We're soaking it overnight in ACF-50 and we'll give it another whack in the morning. Air chisels a good idea, thanks
