I was reading up on installing rear main seals on my 292 and thought Mr. Bonehead (and others) might have some interest in this stuff.

Gallery of Ted Eaton's (runs mid-9's):
(click the pic)

"337 cubic inch Y-Block, Isky camshaft (263° at 0.050 and .595" lift), sheet metal intake, 4.57:1 rear gears (9" of course), Dove 1.6:1 roller rockers, '113' posted heads, 312 crankshaft offset ground to 3.606" stroke and 292 mains, and balanced by myself of course."

He also helped build "Randy Gummelt’s blown 770 HP Y that took the World Y-Block E.T. mark to 8.15 @ 162 mph in Columbus at the 2005 Y-Block Nationals."

Good guy too - answers questions over on Y-BlocksForever forum all the time.

The term "Blown Y block" scares me. I visualize a oil slick behind me.

I wish my Y block looked that good, and ran that good too.

Good stuff Sam.
