When to a show at the begining of the year. The organizers are Ferrari and Mercedes guys, but decided they wanted a hot rod contingent. They parked me and my friends on a wet, grassy hill with a 30 degree slope. We warned them that these cars were old and some didn't have parking brakes. We were facing a line of show cars. They finally decided to move us to flatter ground. It was a hoot trying to back up a hill on wet grass. I fried the clutch in the coupe.

I finally rebuilt the tri-power setup with the kit I got from HotRodCarbs. The rod runs great now. The only problem was with the shiney new parts vs the rest of the car. Since the rod was running so good, I decided to replace the clutch. Pulled and drained the trans and discovered metal shavings. Mmmmm, maybe that's why 2nd gear syncho wasn't working too good. Now, I sent the trans out to be rebuilt.

Since everything else is being fixed, decided to replace the broken tach and speedo.

Good thing I got another car to cruise

Be careful Gassersgarage. That's how it starts. You start out with intentions of doing a little maintenance, and the next thing you know, you end up taking the whole car apart for a complete rebuild.

While the trans is out you might as well do the rear main seal.

As soon as its back on the road, I'll come to my senses. I always say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Learned my lesson with the Biscayne. As soon as my neighbor gets it back from the paint shop, I'll post pics. It will be like a Foose car, hes done so many changes.

I got the trans back. Broken 2nd gear syncro, wasted bearing and third gear was going bad. Oh well, start to work. Oh, oh, clutch fork looks worn. My buddys got one. Nice clutch fork. Crap! Clutch fork pivot ball fell out. Mmmmm, threads are worn. Wonder if the GM dealer has any in stock. Just came back with a new pivot ball,,,,,,,,,,now it's raining and I'm working outside.

Guess I'll start again tomorrow.............
