36 chevy truck gear box

Does anyone have a 36 Chevy truck gear box that they could take a pic of. I have one that I'm thinking of using but not sure what covers the end if anything. I would think something would. Not sure if it will be heavy enough for a 40 fenderless truck. The original was bigger but fenderless and no hood drops alot of weight. The one I have feels good and no slop when turning the wheel. Any help is really appreciated.

I'm thinking a plug similar to a freeze plug.

I'll now shut up and wait for an expert to tell us.
