I went round and round with the guy who bought the 38 Ford. He tried ever trick in his bag to get his way. Never threatening or anything but accusing me of removing property that was legally his. I kept asking why he never contacted me. After several times he gave me the " I was sick, having catscans, had some legal issues and can't leave the country, buddy was supposed to come get it and then backed out.....yadda yadda.
Then he wants me to just send him the grill and the hood sides and call it even. Finally I agreed that I would send him the hoodsides after I sold the car without them so I could make sure and recoup my cash.
So now I have to get the hoodsides off and get it up for sale.

WB,
That's a shame to separate those parts form the car but if that's what gotta happen... so be it! You didn't say how much u're askin'!? Also glad u're not gonna get screwed on the deal!!!

At least you're getting out of any legal hassles and you have a good chance of at least breaking even. It's a shame there are so many unscrupulous people in the world! :(..CR

Just a little suggestion. Do some form of writing on the agreement you struck with the guy about the hood sides. Even emails between you two are better than nothing. Simply send him an email that he has to respond to and that will confirm he only wants the hood sides to call it quits.

People have a way of coming back later on and denying they ever said things.

All of our conversations are via PM on another board. I am not communicating verbally with this person. Now several days have went by and he hasn't responded to my counter off to ship the hood sides AFTER I'm sure I can recoup my money with them removed.
I have also sent him links to this thread and the same topic on two other forums where I presented the situation asking for opinions.

I personally wouldn't waste too much time on him. Give him 1 more opportunity to respond and then do whatever you want to do with the parts. You have to draw the line somewhere, might as well be now!..good luck..CR
