im working on my 42 ford cab, and im wondering what others have done as far as the back wall. have you just left the area bare? beefed it up? made a nice piece to fill the area and close it off?

im currently trying to build something in order to stiffen the back sheet metal as well as fill the area in to just give a smooth finish up to the bottom of the rear window. hopefully some of you working on the same vehicle could chime in. would be much appreciated

Boosted,
Nearly all trucks had 2 strips of bracing about 3" wide that typically went from under the rear window bracing to the bottom of the cab. This kept that big panel in line and from flexing. Some people enclosed that and some leave it open. I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere. Hope that helps and good luck.

i know what the original bracing was, but i want to upgrade and make it nice and solid. on top of that just cleanly close it iin.

You can see the bracing I did here... 20 ga 1x1 with a bunch of cuts to have it follow the sheet shape... Its midway down the page.. as far as the closing it off.. im not that far.. but i have corner and center trim pieces that were factory, filling in the center were the seat back was shouldn't be a problem....

i found it, im liking your idea but i think i may have to snag part of it as well as continue to work with my idea, or else i would be going backwards
