48 Olds I8 parts worth salvaging?

I just got a 48 Olds with a fist size hole in the block. Don't know a thing about 'em, so is there any thing I should be sure to keep? The PO said he threw the rod and then drove it home.

Not sure of the rules, so I'm not trying to sell anything, just don't want to scrap anything of use!

rules? There are not many, and they are posted somewhere. But generally something about coming on to sell with out offering anything else to the forum..... blah, blah , blah.

I have seen your intro, and you ask a good question. I am sure the straight 8 guys would love to have parts from it, as they are sometimes hard to find.
