Cool, will it run?

well -- im gonna have to empty out the gas for sure --
and got a battery in it -- hopped the ignition and it spins like crazy
but doesnt engage -- beat on it with a hammer and nothing so it
looks like ill need a starter to begin with -- but my guess is yes...
has the silver diamond 220 -- 4 speed on the floor
anyone know where to order parts from?

One of the weird things about IHC is they titled the year in which they were sold, not made. So what you have is a 52IHC L series that was sold in 53. That is historically significant as it was the last IHC ever made that was designed by someone other that the now legendary Ted Ornas.
A book that is a must read for anyone with an L series IHC is TRUCK: A LOVE STORY by Michael Perry. It will give you a complete history of that truck by a guy who was at the time building one. Excellent save by the way.[cl

thats some Quality info right there :)

trouble

i have a dilemma --
have access to an 84 toyota that runs drives stops etc ...
i could

do a frame switch -- and have a good little running truck
no hot rod mind you but a good little truck -- have to shorten the bed...or
make another flatbed...
but thats not a big deal -- the width difference from wheel to wheel is 3in off -- so split the difference ( 1.5 "" on each side -- no big deal)

-- drop in the engine and have to rework all the brakes, lights, everything really....

- sell it as is
- i dont know.

well -- when i bought the truck an old can of rustoleum was in the cab behind the seat unopened -- - i shook it up real well -- opened it and decided that it would be good for the dash ... so without further adieu -

Man, I'm working on a 51 L130 and have the same 220 Silver Diamond 6 in it. I say keep it original as can be. But, I got my truck running already. Looking good
