Hey.

I got an 89 Mazda mpv van that today when I turned the key over it done nothing but made a clicking sound in one of the fuses in the small (2X4)ish inch black fuse box on top of the engine and a small click on the pass side somewere. It seems to have good juice so Im not sure??

Now Im not a good troubleshooter especially on these electrical n computer type rydes so Ya think its the starter, solonoid, ignition, ect.... Tnx, RR

First step check you're connections

Second confirm you're bat. is adequately charged

then and only then go to you electrics

Yea what he said
Batt conections clean and bright (not black)

Is your battery Old? they last a little longer than the warranty:rolleyes:

Check to see if you have 12 volts to the small wire on the starter when you turn the key in the start position. It might have a Denso brand starter (common on Japanese cars/trucks) that the contacts can be replaced cheap and easy at a altenator/starter repair shop for less then half for a new cheap made one.

I dont know if this will help but several years ago I had a 1987 Mazda B2200 pickup that would do that and I would have to get under it and Tap the started on the side with a small hammer. It fired up every time I did that.A guy at work told me to do that. It sounded stupid but it worked.[P[;)
