A day in the life of a hot rodder consists of working 10 hours, having dinner with the kids, hug the wife, run off to the basement if possible and assemble a 383 for someone else. And it is his second motor (the first is right behind it and is an all forged 383 for a blower). I have made sundays for my own stuff no matter what

Yeah.... uh.... I feel real bad for you. In the basement even!

And whats in the corner?

That is looking at the 'motor' corner. 383 on the stand, the orange one in the bag is the forged 383, behind it on the stand is a cad northstar, 2 454's under/on the shelving, and a vortec 350 in the bags to the left. the blower is a polished 671 for one of the 454's for a buddy's altered project. various othe N2O, carbs, turbos, and other related hot rod junk. I do metal fab and hot rod stuff for side work. GM tech by day. we have a good bunch of guys that all have different skills. My house/shop is kinda the work shop/storage area for the 4 of us. The garage is on the other side of the doors where the lift is, frame table, and CNC plasma cutter. in the basement is the lathe, mill, shear, brake and tubing bender. years of collecting stuff and some inherited from my Dads MG resto business after he passed away. trust me I wasn't complaining! just making a statement of a normal day for me :)

Cool stuff! But how do you get them out of the basement? [S

haha! The door right behind the pile (and a double door to the left) lead out to the 'garage'. They are all on the same level! No more carring BBC's out the bulk head! I'm gettin old ya know!

WOW...would like to see pictures of the cars those motors will go in...[dr

We are about to start the chassis for the altered 454 blown. It will be a T body, turtle decked, wing on the roof, 106" WB tube chassis kinda like Borsh's winged express. The 383's are for a 70 C10 with full air ride (I just got done with the chassis) and the other is for a 68 K10 blazer. I will post pics of the altered in the builds section as we go along. The northstar I don't know yet. You know, "got the motor now I need something to stick it in" gig.

another day, new side work

new side work to get in the way of my own projects. Fellas 69 Mach 1 has a bad 390. putting a newer 390 in it for him.
