In a camper down at the shop
from my vacation out to the left coast. Every year my wife and I go to San Fransisco for 4 days. We drive out on Hwy 50 and stay a couple days in Tahoe City. Then on to SF for Cable Cars, North Beach and Sabella / La Torre's down at the Warf. This year we came back through Yosemite and stayed a couple days. That place blows my mind.

This old Ford was on the way to Yosemite. It looked to be sitting on either an F150 or Full Size Bronco. Twin I beam with coils and prolly a 351 M or W. It was a pretty clean build.

This old Hudson Hornet followed me up from Oakhurst to the Miraposa Grove. It's a real windy road and he stayed right on the tail of my Audi. It was one of two I saw with Colorado collector plates.

One of many big a$$ Sequoias in the Miraposa Grove. The fence at the base is a normal size fence about 42" tall.

The "Tunnel view point" looking up the Yosemite Valley with El Capatain there to the left in the fore ground. I've seen this view about 4 times in my life and it always blows my mind. If you ever get the chance, you must see Yosemite National Park.

Nice anti theft device on the old Ford! And them old Hornets are so cool!!! I would love to go see them big trees one day! You go through any of the tunnels through some of them? I just think that is neat.

I grew up in that area of CA for most of my life and am still completely in love with Yosemite. The roads up to the park are some of my favorite to drive due to their winding nature. Did you go through Oakdale, Merced, or all the way to the south entrance in Fresno? I think the best entrance is through Oakdale.

I'm not sure if there are any "drive through" Sequoias there or at least I didn't see any. I do know of the drive through Redwoods up in Northern CA where Hwy 1 meets up with 101 on near Legget CA.

We came in the first day from the North end, I think that's Oakdale. We spent the afternoon goofin around in the Valley and deciding what we wanted to do the second day. Then we went out on 41 and stayed down in Oakhurst, I think that's the south or Fresno end. The second day we went back in on 41 and spent the whole day in the valley and visited Glacier Point on our way back to Oakhurst for the night. The third day, we went back through the park and over Tioga Pass and around the south end of Mono Lake back to Colorado. One of these years I may get it together enough to actually get a room in the park a year in advance. But until then I'll settle for an afternoon nap in one of the lounging rooms at the Ahwahnne Hotel before drinks on the deck looking up at Glacier Point.[cl
You're lucky to have grown up around there with Yosemite in your back yard.
