Went up north today and did a walk about in an area called the jump off. (Named because the Indians used to drive buffalo over the cliffs) first thing saw a nice mule deer buck. Not a monster but probably a 24 inch spread and a 5 point (we only count one side out west).
I filled my pockets with dinosaur bones, could have picked up buckets full. We found one huge one sticking out, looked to be a pelvic bone maybe. Like something maybe the size of an elephant.

Man I'd like to come hang with you for a few days, I love prehistoric stuff! Grew up hunting for arrowheads and fossils but most of our fossils here are plant life and shell fish or small animals. Would love to find dinosaur bones. [cl

my family live in south texas, and find arrow heads all the time. i have looked for years and have never found one, not even one. my grandson goes down there with us the summer before last and finds one, lucky little fart.

Here's a couple pictures but I didn't get one of the biggest bone we left.
This area is called the Hell River formation and runs over into Montana. It is one of the richest areas for big fossils in the whole country. Lots of whole skeletons including T-rex have come from around here. Then about 100 miles south is a huge mamouth dig. It was apparently a pit they fell into. I think they have uncovered 20 some complete ones and a few scavengers.

and 3 of the big boys at the ranch.

Lots of good arrowhead hunting around here, but I've never found one. I have a good friend who has been doing it 50+ years and he has over 6000 and some real nice ( and valuable) ones from the knife river and paleo period.
