A little snivvling/whinning from Boltbreaker today.
So when I was 5 years old my dad took me out for my first ride on a street bike and I was hooked(the 57 Chevy street/drag car hooked me on cars too:D) . It was one of his drag bikes. I still remember the sound of that motor. He sold it a couple years later when I was about 7 years old. A friend of a friend son still has the bike in his garage. He was the guy who bought it.
I have tried a couple times to buy it and he says he's not interested. I ran into him this weekend and still "I might work on it some day". The bike has been sitting in a heated garage for years and he hasnt done anything with it:mad:.
I get that it's his and he should do or not do what he wants with it, but man it would be cool to buy it and restore it back to its original drag bike state. Heck it is exactly the way my dad sold it.
I sit and wait.

Don't blame you for being frustrated. Seems if this person is just going to let it sit and rot it would be better off in your hands. But that seems to be the way of things, I've heard the ol' I'm going to fix it up someday way too many times and then watch the stuff just sit and rot. Good luck be patient it may come to you yet.

I hear of people wondering what happened to their first muscle car or bike and the one that got me hooked is only 20 minutes from my house.
The kicker is that all the bikes the guy has he has not restored or touched ANY of them. He doesnt even ride them. Some are stacked on top of others.
It's just weird.

Those kinda guys kill me...LOL they have usually have a collection of pretty decent half finished projects sittin around collecting dust, when in thier mind, "someday they will restore it" but the reality of the deal is they don't have the time ,money or ambition to git'er done...people are funny..atleast ya can go look at it and "dream" about it like they do...:D

Yea I found a perfect 66 nova ss. It has been setting for at least 10 years in a carport. I have ask several times to buy it. Not for sale for any price.

It would be nice to have that bike since it was your dad's and you have early memories of it. Have you tried offering him an interesting trade instead of buying it?

I agree with Gas, sometimes a hoarder will trade sooner than sell. Talk to him enough to learn if he likes guns, boats, bikes that actually run.

Yep, I am trying to work a deal with a neighbor who won't sell for some of the stuff I would love to get rid of. Try a trade, junk for junk.
