I've had 5 Dodge Cummins powered pickups over the last 20+ years and yesterday was the first time I've ever had to have one hauled home.

I knew it wasn't going to be a good day when they cut off more of my ear
and then on the way home the water pump on my pickup went junk. I don't understand it, this one only has 285,000 miles on it.

$100.00 for a new water pump and belt and good to go.

I've only bad to trailer one of my 5 cummins trucks and it was cause of bad fuel. Best engine ever built IMO.

Too bad Chrysler auto tranny's are so poor. If they could put a stronger automatic in it they would rule the market.

I've only had 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions up until my knee replacement. My current pickup is an auto. but I don't pull the overly heavy loads that I did before retiring so maybe I get by with it.

My automatic truck has 485k on it and has had 3 rebuilds to the trans. That's not bad IMO considering it almost always has a trailer of some sort hooked to it and I DON'T drive it easy.

Plus in 07 (I think) they started using a Alison trans.
