here's my question of the day.

I not sure what color it's gona be but lets say black and red for now.
Ok should i paint the frame one color and suspension another or keep it all one ? just want some input from you guys.

oh and if i go black and red the body would be black.

I've always liked the suspension and engine to be one color, and the body and frame another........like red on the suspension and black on the body and frame. But I have seen lots of cars done in one color and it looks great too. It all depends on what you like.

I know flat black body/frames and red wheels are done a lot, but there is a reason........it looks good and is very oldtimey. As we have discussed, the final colors that go on a car are the toughest decision you will make.

Don

I've seen both, and both looked good. I did my 32' in all black with an exposed engine. The engine was yellow with a white and yellow interior. There's a gal on the Hamb named Faith. She has a 32' Roadster with a black body and red frame. The grill is also red. Rod looks real good too.

I tend to be partial to the black on black look (everything).
But then again, I thought black was the only color there was :D.

enuff said?

I think this subject is strictly a matter of personal preference. I like the all black look. My coupe is black with black wheels, black wall tires and a black frame but with some chrome on the front suspension. I've posted enough pics of it already so I don't want to keep posting them. I wanted the car to have a gritty, all business look to it with just enough glitz to keep the eye interested. If I were building a hot rod that I wanted to look more refined, I'd probably paint it like Don's T or something similar. I've now seen that car in person and it's very nice. The contrasting colors highlight the different parts of the car and the color choice is great. The satin black on Boneheads cab, chassis, and suspension looks great too. He has some color on the engine, alum/chrome wheels, and one of his skulls and a spiderweb grill to break things up nicely but it still has a nasty mean look.

So, really I think it's all a matter of what you think is pleasing to you on the particular car that you are building. Sometimes, no color at all looks good. Just the patina. So I'll repeat, it all depends on the car and the owners personal choices in my opinion.
