Be careful with a hereford bull on young black cows. Herefords heads are too big and can cause problems during birth on young cows.

Wow, you guys calve early down there. Some ranchers here still start late feb- early March but many have moved to April or even May to get past winter.

It's nice to have your own bull. Especially when you can share the cost with someone.
It was not our choice to have them calve this time of year, just couldn't get a bull till mid summer.

Meet Junior... he's a 2 yr old! Not really growed up yet but passed potency test with flyin' colors. Should be good for quite a few years now! He's on the job as we speak & the girls already like him!
