The last few days my iPhone camera has left me wanting to fold my phone in half and throw it out the window.

Anybody on here know anything about cameras and photography? I'd like to just get a regular camera but I don't know anything about them.

You can get great pictures out of fairly inexpensive point and shoot cameras. I don't know what you have available down there, but I'm partial to Canon cameras. Nikon makes some good stuff as well. My suggestion is going to your local sales place and telling them what you need and they'll hopefully give you a few options.

I'm with snopro, any of the compact digital cameras now available will have you wondering what you were doing with a cell phone. I use one called the Nikon Coolpix...

Ok with these cameras how do you get the pics to photo bucket? I don't have a home computer and would like to be able to switch the pics to photo bucket while I'm on the road.

That I don't know. I have never figured out how to get the pics off my phone and load them to photobucket without loading them onto my PC at home first. Maybe you could get a cheap laptop and carry it with you, transfer pics to it, upload via wifi to photobucket?

I have the photibucket app, it hardly works, and use it to upload from my phone. It takes forever to get them to load for some reason.

A few years ago I dropped a couple hundred on a Sony Digital Camera and I hate it. It has so many feature I can't remember how to work it, not to mention my I-phone takes far better pictures. It reminds me of all the new after market car stereos that are so darn difficult to operate.
That's not to say I'm crazy about my I-Phone as I'm a Droid convert and getting use to thinking like an apple is weird.

I would think that a tablet would work to do the uploading from. (I don't have one myself, I hate laptops, and tablets are just smaller. But I may have to get something like that to have roaving internet. I also hate smart phones - I have an old flip phone, and wouldn't want anything different, except maybe nothing.)

re: cameras: I don't know a lot about the digital ones, although we've had one for over 10 years. I was a 35 mm film guy for years, but just haven't kept up with all of the new stuff. Just wanted to say, though, that with digital cameras there are two kinds of magnification, optical, and digital (I think it is called). The optical is what you want - that's an actual magnification by lenses, not just electronics. I'm sure that ohters can help more than I can, but just offering this bit.

Maybe somebody makes a camera with bluetooth. It would be easy to sync it to your phone or a tablet. We have a bluetooth tablet but I've never tried to sync it yet to my Samsung android.

What's the prob with u're iFone?! I was a pro photog for many years in another life time!

It won't focus, will focus on the wrong thing and won't change, I've had it just turn white and not do anything, the zoom sucks royalty as it just makes everything pixelled and a few other small things that I don't like.

Something is definitely wrong there! Don't know what version you have but some of the pre-6 ones had a problem with the lens getting scratched & causing problems like that. I used toothpaste to buff my old one & that actually helped.

As for digital cameras... I prefer Nikons. I have a pro 35mm Nikon that I use in our real estate biz because it will accept a super wide angle lens (great for taking indoor shots) but I also have cheaper point & shoot Nikons that take excellent pictures. Best Buy has several Nikon Coolpix cameras around $100 that are good cameras but one that has bluetooth would be a bonus.

I just recently bought a Canon Powershot SX710. It's smaller and lighter than my Nikon D70 and all the lenses I carry with it. Most of the pictures I recently posted from Alaska were taken with the Canon.
It takes great pictures 30X optical zoom, 20.3 megapixels, 1040HD video and you can download pictures to your phone and from there you can get them on Photobucket.

30x Optical Zoom (25-750mm)
• 20.3 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor combined with the DIGIC 6 Image Processor
• Built-in Wi-Fi allows wireless transferring of images and video to compatible mobile devices
• Capture stunning 1080p Full HD video (60p/30p/24p options) with a dedicated movie button
• Large 3.0-inch LCD with a screen resolution of 922,000 dots allows easy viewing even from a wide angle
