:confused:I have a 32stude dictator and am trying to change out the front spindles and hubs to disk brakes/new model wheels. I was wondering if anyone has a clue about what spindles will change out on the orig. axle. I know I can get a complete axle...hub to hub ... but I cant find one that is 52" center to center of kingpins.[all are standard 48"] I was looking to keep the orig axle, frame , and body and "liven it up" with a heart and lung transplant hooked to a 9 in. I was thinking safety and trying to save a buck in the process. any info on where to look would even be appreciated. I just cant seem to find what i am looking for.

I havent taken the orig kingpins out or the spindles/hub off yet, so I am not sure of the pin dia. [S

Post some pics of the spindle with the hubs off. We have made all kinds of odd caliper brackets for folks.

Off the top of my head, I don't know what size the king pin bosses were on the early Studebakers, but I'm sure if you gets the height and diameter of the bosses to RPM he'll be able to help you out. It might involve reaming (or sleeving) the axle to accept common size king pins. Also you may have to add spacers similar to those used when using 49-54 Chevy spindles on an early Ford axle....

Just my two cents :D

I will try to get it pulled apart soon. things are just taking a turn in the tailspin around here. Had to put it on the back burner for a little while. thanks for the insight though. I appreciate all of you people.
