Hi my name is Austin and I am a welder in Arizona! I am starting a rat rod with my dad. It’s a 1935 inertatinal harvester I think? It’s all their motor and all, we just are not sure where to start to make it a rat rod. We are thinking a 350 with a turbo 400? We like the rats that have the old rims and tires, so we are not sure how to get those with good breaks? Do we need to get new axles to get good breaks? Any ideas for us? What about getting it lower do we use the same frame just cut and drop it or do start from scratch? My dad and i have a nice welding shop i can make anything (sand rails, trailers, exc.) if anyone has some good ideas for us please let us know i will post some picks soon thanks oh ya its a duly to if that makes a diff. From the welders with the hottest rods in AZ.... thanks for your time!

Check out the build threads on this site, there are many builds just like you describe. You can get a lot of ideas just by looking at the pics, if you have questions about what you see just ask the poster. Internationals have a strong following on here so you should get a lot of opinions. Welcome to the site get those pics on and good luck on you're build.

Austin,
Welcome to the forum and take a look at the builds section for some great ideas.
