A *real* tin magnet
I went to this auction yesterday and bought nothing.
I went for the 48 COE they never fired it up and it went $2000
Also the 46 COE junker, a friend got it for $140. The whole back of the cab was destroyed and it was going to ne a huge job to extract it and remove the big live bottom bed. Plus it is way to dry to torch anything there.
Then the 56 GMC, I ran it to $525 and the next bid took it home.
I ran the 72 Binder 4x4 to about 80 and didn't realize until later I was bidding against the guy I came with. He got it for $90.
Then the bumpside dumptruck. It had a 69 car 390 and had a small engine fire that burned off a few plug wires. I ran it to $400 something and was again bidding against a friend not knowing it. He got it for $500. It had good rubber and probably ran fine, 2 speed rear. I also bid on some trailers and was always the second to the last bid. Oh, well.
I did have a guy approach me after the trucks sold and ask me if I was bidding on the GMC. Then he proceeds to tell me about one he is selling. It belongs to a small rural fire dept he volunteers at. A 56 GMC one ton with 16,000 actual miles. They want around $2500 for it I guess.
