What is the best axle combo to get used for a transverse spring setup?

Seems to be 40's ford is the way to go.

I have seen that there are certain years for the axle and certain years for the wish bones. What are they? And pros and cons on them?

I have seen some people using car instead of truck so is there a better axle in some cars?

I know where a model aa axle and bones are and now the yard I found is full of ford stuff so if I can get some opinions I would like to know what parts to look for.

I am wanting to do disc brake front. Suicide style. And 5 on 5.5 lug pattern.

Thanks for any help

28-34 is the best IMO. After that the spring perch holes are out further and too close to the tires when you split the bones. It is also harder to find the right width spring for the later axles,

Speedway sells brackets you can weld to any rear end. I actually cut a set down and welded to an econoline axle for my front. If you are going to run it open drive and split bones, stay away from the model A bones if you plan on hooking up. I have seen them self destruct They were really never meant to take any kind of torque load, the torque tube did all that. The ones from the 40s seem to be the heaviest.
