Last time he wrecked, he ran into a school bus. Apparently, a 40 foot screaming yellow bus can hide in the shrubs, jump out in front of you and park at the curb. [S

This is exactly why there are motorcycle classes. I hate to be such a Debbie downer, but these old guys buying a very large, heavy motorcycle like a Harley as their first ever bike are just begging for trouble. If you've never been on a motorcycle before the worst thing you can buy is a Harley. I've had many and love them, but they are not for beginners by any stretch.

I've never ridden a Harley but yes they are monsters. We had one at the body shop I worked at, a full dresser, and I had to get help to move it by hand around the yard. If I ever laid one over I wouldn't be able to pick it back upright.

I can't imagine what those ones with the small and big block Chevy engines must be like !

One of the guys at work always wanted to be a "motor cop", so he applied. He had never driving a motorcycle before and failed the course. He went out and bought a used cop bike to practice with. He re-applied to the school and made it in. On his last day, his instructor took him on the freeway for a high speed run. He crossed the center divider and ran head-on into a Lexus.

I've had motorcycles, off and on, since I was 16. I was in my 40's when I quit.

Kind of reminds me of when i worked at a car dealer. A young guy bought a car out of the wholesale bull pen for cheap. He was stoked because he already had it sold to someone across town. Paid for it and pulled out of the drive in front of an oncoming car and it was totaled.

Yep... about a year ago a guy right here in H-town bought a big hog & was practicing in the parking lot of his apt complex & lost control & slammed into a brick wall & died. Had the bike for just a few days! Hate to be callous but it's pretty much... Natural Selection! We have at least 2 motorsickle deaths here per week... last one was a high speed crash runnin' from the cops!

Living so close to Daytona Beach I see these guys all too often. It's somewhat amazing there isn't a lot more of these type of tragedies around here.
