Last week I was watching a couple friends drink beer at their house about 5 miles from my place. When I left, I went around a corner in my little truck a little fast. A quarter mile later the carb went empty. I hiked back to the friend's house and got towed home on the end of a strap.
After digging into the problem, I found the gas tank sealer, which had been in for about 5 years had started lifting and had covered the tank outlet. I used the best sealer available and followed all the directions. I built the tank from new sheetmetal. I believe the ethanol that is in Minnesota gas worked on the sealer for five years and finally caused it to lift in spots. So, if you have ethanol in your gas, be careful about using a tank sealer.
My solution, I bought a poly tank from Speedway. The truck is running fine again.:)
