Boat Tails Gone Wild

I've been snagging lots of Boat Tail pix offa the NRnet, thought I might share them.

It seems they reduced the drag enough off the old cars it would add 10 mph to the top end, and prevent drafting in racing--no rear 'suction'.. Also some modern fuel mizer cars are trying them and claim %15 increase in MPG..

Gotta admit--they are mostly pretty funky lookin.. Probably just something to tinker with in the shop and get a few grins and put back in the woods..

Here are a few Boattail beauties. The 1925 Bugatti is the one that has been sumerged for many of yrs. - sold for $360,000 Two of these are Foose replicas and the other is not your dads Volvo [ I wish it were ]
