but what i want to know

, if ya will ...
any ideas, thoughts, suggestions etc are greatly appreciated.

Spent waaaay too long messing around with this. I picked a bad picture as a base though, but you should get the idea of where I'm coming from.

It's been done a lot with AD Chevies and Early Model A's. It is a LOT of work (did an AD) and there isn't much of a financial return on the investment (read between the lines - nobody wants one and the folks that do want it for free). If you REALLY want one, then by all means go for it. If you want one because your want to make 50K on it, this is NOT the way to do it.

One that I found interesting and fun is turning a rusty delivery into a ute. Chop the delivery in half down the horizontal body line, then do the same to a 2 door sedan. Put the sedan section (complete with the small quarter glass) onto the body of the delivery and have the sloping rear go into the new "bed" area. Gives you a cab and half ute.

i hear where youre all coming from --- and im definately not looking for money - what i am looking for is something the entire family can enjoy ---

i want a classic style open wheel rat and enough seats for 2 kids and the old lady ...
its just real tough finding an old sedan like you guys run across --- ive got truck cab offers out the ears ---

what about maybe a chopped and channeled panel with windows cut in?
easier? in that case i would be in a bind as far as structural integrity goes --- id probably want to put in some sort of cage and maybe flat steel where the windows were cut?

I don't think you'd have too much problem with structure. Just look at a sedan - two big door holes in the sides and the hold up pretty well. If all your doing is adding windows, your not losing much structural integrity at all. Depending on the length of the panel, you might need to make it 3 windows per side.

a sedan would probably be better ...
maybe something like one of these doodles i did when i was bored?
what year can i get away with using do you think?

maybe a 38 Plymouth?

Why not just take a sedan and add a small bed to the back of it, fill in the rear fender area, or reshape it, make a long frame and there you go long body RPU
