What is really funny is that the kids who lived in California/Arizona, etc used to be able to go to the airplane junkyards and pick up these seats for between $ 1 to $ 5 each. Of course that was in the 50's and 60's.

There was recently a belly gas tank on Ebay that was at over $ 10,000.00 when I saw it last, and it was dented somewhat. Guess this old plane stuff is worth some big bucks now.

They did describe it as "stainless steel". Maybe that's why it went for so high?? Although I've never heard of a stainless bomber seat. Vintage aircraft parts are high dollar depending on where you look. I've been searching for WWII aircraft gauges for months and finally found a place that has them marked much lower than most other sources. Now if I just had some cash to spend, I would be buying them.

The Navy aircraft used stainless seats. Rare and expensive. If that would have been a pair in that condition, the price might have been staggering.
