Fire!

When I was in high school there was a really rowdy hot rodder that was notorious for getting speeding tickets. Once he got stopped for doing over 100 on the feeder. When he was stopped the cop asked him where the fire was ... he said "In your eyes officer". Whoops... wrong answer!!! Needless to say... he took a little trip downtown!

Years ago, I was cruising pretty hard down an old back country road. ( 79 Ford Pu 351 cleavland) I topped a small hill and at the crest met a Highway patrol car. I just went ahead and pulled over and stopped. In a couple of seconds the cop comes flying over that hill, to catch me. He hits the brakes and slid to a stop behind me with the brakes locked up. He wasn't expecting me to be stopped and nearly hit me. He says, " you had the old Ford kinda wound up there? I said, " Maybe". He tells me I was doing 85 in a 55. He gave me a ticket for 10 over, since I stopped for him.
I didn't have any answers for the guy, just " yes sir".

Do you remember awhile back, there was a news program about "Banzai Runners". These guys in their souped up european imports would blast down the freeway at night. The host went along for a ride with a camera. The dotted lines looked like a continuous white line when they got upto speed. How do you catch someone like that when the helicopter tops out at only 175 !!!!!

There was a Mercedes in the San Fernando Valley that was notorious for that. Don't know if he ever got caught.
