Man, the lights just went on. The coupe already has been converted to '40 Ford hydraulic brakes, which is good. But I have access to a '47 Lincoln parts car. Lincoln front brakes!!! Also the Lincoln wheels will accept the '40 Ford hubcaps I've got also.

I'll ask this question here also.
Does anyone know if Buick drums can be used on the Lincoln backing plates with the same modifications as a Ford backing plate and hubs.
 
Yes the Lincoln backing plates will work with the modified Buick drums. They will NOT work with your Ford spindles however. The '46-'48 Lincoln backing plates are much deeper in the bolt pocket than the earlier models, so they will not fit on a Ford spindle. You will need the Lincoln spindles and hubs, which shouldn't be a problem if you have access to the entire parts car...
