cell phone hijinks

my cell phone is not capable of really blocking certain numbers.
i mean it will still ring and then go straight to leave a message.
so to keep from hearing it ring when certain numbers call.
i voice recorded total silence for 60 seconds.
and assigned that recording as a ring tone to those callers.
so they still call at all hours.
but i dont know it.
i hope someone finds this circuitous route helpful.

In June I switched my service to take advantage of Metro PCS' $25 rate deal and had to get a new phone number with it. Immediately I started getting calls from faraway places at all hours of the night. Most of them were Spanish speaking and asking for some lady I had never heard of. I think they were bill collectors, and finally it has stopped after I kept telling them she was not at this number.

I should have used your method and recorded a measage saying "________ no longer has this phone number, quit calling ! but if you are calling for Don, leave a message."

Last time I got a new phone number, I got the same kinds of calls from blacks wanting to know if so and so was there. I told them, do I sound like them? After a while, they quit calling.

A buddy of mine kept getting a call from the same woman when he got a new number. She just kept calling. After several times of telling her that he just got the number and so and so didn't have it anymore, one day he was in a bad mood, so outta the blue he asked her, "You wanna f***?" Startled her so bad she didn't know what to say. She finally asked him why he asked, he told he he figured she must to keep calling him all the time. After that, she didn't call back.[S

Hmm.. I am so not techy with cell phones. I have a net 10 that I go to the dollar store and buy minutes for. Never text and never get spam calls.

I get occasional calls for bs offers but only from out of the us jurisdiction so I forward all of those to the FBI internet/phone fraud division

I didnt have any issues posting my number on CL and on my face book page I added my email and phone number to a picture using photoshop and used that pic for my banner. that way ordinary html trolling software (they call them robots) won't pick up on it.

Id go for a land line if i could backcharge all commercial calls for the privilege of calling me

I must be an anomaly. I have not gotten a sales call or text on my cell phone. Had the same number for years and my phone is an antique, as cell phones go.

I know a lot of people who can't not answer a phone. If I am busy grinding or something noisy, I don't even bother seeing who it is. And my land line...half the time I don't even get up to see who it is, just don't feel the need to be on the phone. On my land line I have caller ID. No ID, no answer. No message, no answer either.
