Well that computer thread got me to thinking about cell phones and why I dislike what they have done to our society. I know they serve a good purpose, no arguement.
So a couple days ago I am shopping at the local freight damage store and notice a rather elderly lady leaning on her cart and having conversation in normal voice tones so there was no ignoring her. As I came up that isle she had to get out of the middle where she had jack-knifed her cart when her phone range. She looked just a little put out that she had to move so I could get to the item I needed. Then she says loudly to her phone "Well I can't talk about it right now, there are too many people listening". I said,"excuse me if I am interfering with you talking on the phone in the store", I did not use a sarcastice tone and I don't think she realized that I was. Well that's all but it's just one more reason I hate cell phones, they have kindof made people rude on some level. I am sure she was otherwise an very sweet old lady, and she didn't really mean anything by it.
Another one, my sister stopped over one morning to tell me something and her phone rang 4 times in about 4 minutes, 3 of them were her 16 year old son setting right outside the door in the truck. I hate trying to carry on a conversation with a cell phone addict.

This is another one of those items that had it not been for the kind of work I was doing I would have been late getting involved with them. After my run at sign painting and using a computer to help in that venture, I went into field service for photo processing equipment. Because I was on the road so much the company paid the monthly expense of my brand new portable "bag phone" so I could stay in touch and be able to respond to the customers that much quicker. Pretty much had a cell phone since, and now I use the cell as my regular phone....don't even have a "land line" anymore. Fortunately, I'm not addicted like some people are. If I need to make a call I can and if someone calls me I can be home or on the run and still take the call.

I hate all the different ring tones and the people who have to have the ringer turned up to the max and then have to talk at max volume...guess I don't like drawing that much attention to myself......unless I'm driving an old car :)

I used one frequently when I owned my own business, but it was for business. I have not owned one in 5 years. Grinds me to no end seeing people on them while driving. Should be outlawed. Pull over and talk for crying out loud, the life you save may be mine!

People using phones with others around is pet peave number two,(number one is people who drive slow in the passing lane) it drives me nuts. I was standing in a checkout line one day and some lady who was in the line next to me is having a loud argument with someone on her cell phone. She was oblivious to anyone around her and was yelling at the top of her lungs "get a life!!!!" and stuff like that. Everybody was looking at her but she didn't even care.

When I worked retail sometimes when I was helping some customer their phone would ring and they would begin talking to the person. I would walk away and go help someone else. One guy found me later and said "hey, you were helping me, where did you go?" I told him "what did you expect me to do, stand there the whole time you were gabbing on the phone?"

But the clincher had to be the day I saw a homeless guy pushing a shopping cart with all his worldly belongings on it...............AND HE WAS TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE !!!!:D:D

My cell phone is used for calling AAA if I break down. Otherwise, it stays off.

I was at a local cruise spot when my friend cell phone kept ringing. He would answer it while we were in the middle of a conversation. I finally asked him if we were at war. He said, "What?". I told him he must be the President since everyone seems to find him so important. I said if you're not, turn that #$%^ thing off. Use your message service. He got the hint.

i hate them too ,but when i brake down on the side of the rode im always glad that i borrowed my wifes to call for help. i allways take heres when i ride my bikes or take a rod out for the first few tripps just in case .other than that i hate them .
But i will say that i was greatfull to hear that they were a help in the 9/11,because some people were able to talk to there family before they passed away and it helped the firemen find some of the victims too.so there is good and bade sides too every thing ,but like most things ''people'' find a way to over do it .Its like ,i like to drink now and then but i dont understand the alcaholics?

text messagers

What really bugs me is the text messagers. What is up with that? If you have the cell phone and call someone, either talk to them or leave a message. You think some one on a cell phone is a bad driver have you ever seen one texting while driving!!!

My sister recently got a Sprint Rumor phone, the type where a keyboard slides out, and is constantly on it. Its gotten to the point where the parentals dont even want her to bring when get out together.

Though for emergancies my cell phone has more than paid for itself for me after the las three years.

TXTNG FTW LOL. (texting for the win Laughing Out Loud)
