Don't know if u guys have seen the new Hot Rod but there's an article about a new 454 BBC these cats are making with 400+ HP & 500+ flbs/torq for $2,650. Man o man... that's some cheap HP & makes me wanna built something just to use one. They come with everything but carb & starter. WOW!!!

On the surface that might seem like a lot of money, but you are right, Bob, you would have a hard time duplicating that motor with that equipment for any less.

I think you need that motor, Bob. :D:D

That is a great price. I am picking up an Olds 455 Monday (I hope). It is a '76 model with a Performer intake and Q-jet. Way less power than that but it should be better than the Olds 350 in my '42 now. I hope to build to that level as I can afford it. I have a set of big valve heads for it that need rebuilt , that and a better cam and timing chain maybe I will get close. Thanks for the heads up, I wish I could get a couple of them at least.

I have a tricked out gen5 454 crate motor in my 47 Hudson coupe. I'm not the one that did the work,I got it in a trade. It does have some nut,I'm kinda impressed...

I got a whole truck with a 429 in it for $900 and drove it home.....:p
Atta boy! I dont have a big block yet, but the 350 Buick I have is a 1979 crate motor with zero miles, and only cost me $450. I cant complain, but I can be jealous of the big block. I just wont ever be able to spend that kinda money on a motor.
