I recently found you guys while sufing around. I have a 1961 Falcon, and I am trying to learn as much as possible before I start to work on it. Plans are to swap a 302 and lower the whole car. I also would like to add a few custom touches, but not too wild. I probably won't post much, but will always be reading posts and researching old tech advice. Thanks for lettin' me in.

Welcome!

Creeder, you came to the right place to learn and get ideas, some very talented and knowledgeable folks around here ready to jump in and help. Post some pix of your Falcon when you can. And don't be afraid to jump in a take part any time. Welcome and enjoy.

Falcons seem to be very popular builds these days. Lots of good examples around here. Also you should look at a couple of engine swap threads here.
Welcome to the site, chime in when you can.

Welcome to the forum. At the car show I just attended there was a bone stock '61 or so Falcon near me. People were cllimbing over the car all day. To be honest, we were a little surprised because there was nothing really special about it, but for some reason people were asking the guy questions all day and just enjoying the car. I guess it sparked a lot of memories from people.

The sbf will make yours a cool driver for sure. :D

Thanks for all the support. The Falcons do seem to draw attention. When mine still ran decent, I would get lots of attention. I have had the car for over 5 years now. Kids tend to take more money than cars sometime. I sold a 1993 Mustang 5.0 and picked up the falcon the day after my son was born (with permission from the wife of coarse) Now that he is older, he often asks why we don't drive the Falcon. I guess I may have a small helper. I plan on getting into some real work on it in the next few months. I have little experience, but I can read the boards and learn from all you guys. Thanks again, and I will try to get some pics up.

Welcome to RRr, creeder ! I've liked Falcons since I was a kid. There's a few other Falconites here, check out there posts. There may be some ideas for yours. Post some pics of yours when you get a chance.

I hope I do this right, but here goes. A few pics of the Falcon as I got it. There are some bubbles starting to pop out, but I hope the rust isn't too bad. The drivers side floor needs attention for sure. I have new seat covers and almost all the suspension parts for a 302 swap. I have dome 5 lug drums and an 8" rear already. I plan on removing all the side trim, but that will mean alot of welding on holes. Many of the side trim parts have dents and some are missing and replaced with stick-on molding. I would like to lower it and keep it simple and clean. Unsure of color but the interior parts I have are black. I try not to think too much about paint since it is so far off yet. Thanks again for all the responses to a simple introduction.
