ok scored a complete 1983 chevy s-10 2.0 L with a 4 speed standard...measured 2 top bols on bellhousing seems to be 4 1/2 " center..trans has mechinal clutch linkage...seems to be same bolt patter as my 292 in liner and same as small block...not sure flashlight batts going bad on me..where can i find some numbers on it?.will this bolt up to inline 292 and small block?...im sure someone here knows....tell me i did good today!!![P

It will fit the V8 and six bell, but you need a clutch disc that fits the oddball spline. Whether you should use it is another can of worms. They aren't a very strong trans. A T5 is a much better choice.

odd ball spline?...

there are different spline on the main shaft, you can use it . some of the s10 used a i belive a 14 spline or 26 spline cant remember on the mainshft, but you can look up the trans online to find the specs for it
it maybe a vega or monza trans , if so they are good one i have a borg warner in my truck,,
have you got a pic?

does it look like any of these?

i think this what you have, borg- warner t4c 4speed.
All aluminum top-loaded transmission with the shifter on the top of the extension housing with an internal single-rail shift linkage. Front and rear main bearings are ball type and the cluster gear has a shaft running through it, that is supported by loose needles. Case casting is number 13-53.
BORG-WARNER T4 1983-84 Cars, 1985-87 Compact Trucks Parts List 43
All aluminum top-loaded transmission with shifter on top of the extension housing with internal single-rail shift linkage. Front and rear main bearings are tapered. The cluster gear is solid and is supported on each end by cylindrical roller bearings located in the case. Case castings numbers are 13-51 or 13-52.

if it is a t4, it will bolt right up! this was used i jeeps also with a 258 inline 6!,

no! you will have to find one for a 6 or v8, but small blocks will interchange, as long as they come with the two piece rear seal, the later models, i believe 86 up are one piece seals!, anything pre 80 will work, iline 6 or v8. v6 and I4 are different
