Why can't I find any dropped cross steering arms for chevy spindles?

They're all over the place for Ford spindles.[S

All they make is those lousy flat plate steel ones that flex for Chevy spindles. However, we did modify a set of forged ones for a Ford to use on the Chevy spindles on the front of my Son's T bucket. They were dropped too. I will shoot some pictures as I am heading to the shop in a little while.

Ok, I took some pictures for you and it reminded me how we did it. I had a set of Chassis Engineering 37-48 Ford steering arms I had been saving and when we were setting up the front end of Don's bucket I didn't like the way those chrome flat ones from Speedway flexed. So I held the ones from Chassis Engineering up against the Chevy spindles and found the holes were only slightly misaligned.

I put the arms in the vice and heated them and bent the bolt holes closer together until they were the same spacing as the Chevy spindle holes, then I used some grade 8 bolts to fasten the spindles to the arms. It worked out great.

You're welcome. I was surprised how close to fitting the Ford arms were to the Chevy spacing, I only had to bend them in a very little until they lined up. They also drop down quite a bit for clearance and you could heat and bend them more if you needed even more clearance.
