Here is a project that some one bailed on. It is a 70 chevy (gmc nose), chopped, tubbed, dana 60 rear, 4 link, 350/th350. Needs a lot of clean up. I have already shortened and filled the steering column, stripped the dash to fill holes, hade an outside door handle, and started on the bomber style side windows. It will be painted in olive drab green with some door art.

Ya know, I've always said that a guy can never have too much chop, but I think this might change my mind.
Looks like It was done very well, but the proportions seem off to me. But to each is own :D

Haha! the photos lie. It was not done well at all. I am fixing much of it. It is a little extreme even for me. I banged my head 7 times on the 40 min ride home! But the price was right and I can work with it. I also go a 29 Essex coupe body, 2 model A frames, a 48 ford front suspension complete and a bunch of other parts with it.

Those vertical coil overs and that 3 1/2" panhard don't seem like they would work very well either :)
But sounds like the rest of your load was worth it :)

believe it or not it has a watts link in it! I do have some stuff to 'finish' on the suspension like making it all in double shear not single. I filled an extra hole in the dash as well as the ash tray and heater holes today. Knocked out the passengers side outer door handle. Added the lower channels in the windows for the sliding bomber windows. Stripped the door inners and replaced the passengers side inner mechanism for the handle. I even shot some olive drab on the passengers side door jamb to see how it is going to look. I like it alot! pics to follow.

here is the dash before and roughed in, the column in smoothed and shortened, the passengers side outer door handle in, the channels in the doors for the bomber windows, and some olinve drab green for a feel of how it will be after.

The first thing that came to mind was a B-17 Flying fortress with the long body and short windshield. I think a bomber theme would be perfect!

maybe a B-25 Mitchell

I had thought of doing an army star on the doors but PaulJ might have hit it with the air force insignia on the Mitchell.

Sam I want to swap out the front tires due to being WAY too small. I think that will level it out as well as filling the wheel wells out.

A bigger front tire will help fill up the wheel well but you might have to change to a shorter rear coil over or maybe change the mounts and move them down.
I lowered my 72 long wheel base with a 4" drop in the rear and 2" in front and that made it sit level, long and low.

so here is a little bit of what I got done on it.

OOps! Looks like I duplicated some pics. I also have the front rims out getting new tires. I am painting the rims black. It is now all flat cleared and that cleaned up around the logos where I had sanded them. Kinda aged the logos and nomenclature. I made lexan sliding side windows, bolted in the seat after lowering the mounts, shortened the column, added plates to the 4 link on the rear so they are in double shear, add a proper air cleaner, added a radio, blacked the grille except the light rings, and finished the door handles inside and out. No just to do the headliner, fix the turn signals, rhino line the bed, and mount the new M/T rear tires and it will be ready to go![;)[;):D

here is the finished (almost) product. Just need to fix the turn signals and put the headliner in. Then the fun begins!

Looks killer!

Take silver paint and paint the outside bead of the rims with a cotton ball. (Look at rims on a UPS truck up close.) It'll make them look better, but not flashy.

I was thinking just a simple red stripe around the bead area....hummm

Looks much better in the darker color! Now you need a machine gun in the bed, over the cab!:D

And a turret! I might have neede one if I didn't cut the seat down. My bro-in-law is 6'4". He don't fit so good!:(
