Ok, so there is this guy in my neighborhood who is a big time car collector. He bought this old car dealership and the barn behind it. He has got a great collection of old gas pumps, parts, memorobilia, and of course cars. The barn is about 3 or 4 stories high with an elevator to lift the cars to the various levels for storage. Its super high tech inside, but with an old school sort of appearance. The best part is that from the outside, it still looks like a run down hundred year old barn. Well, every year, he decorates the front windows of the dealership for Christmas. This year he has really outdone himself. The entire front window is made up of items from the movie, " A Christmas Story. " You know, the movie with Ralphie. He has everything! From the bunny pajamas to the soap that made Ralphie blind to the Red Rider BB gun and even the old Dodge with the Christmas tree on top! You know the one they got a flat tire on when Ralphie said.....well you remember what he said. Here are a couple of pics I took last night. I'll go back down and try to get some better shots. Its unbelievable.......

Ah the "leg lamp" ...."F-R-A-G-I-L-E, must be French"

Very cool. Some people really get involved with collecting stuff and it makes if fun when they share it with others.

Thanks for posting it. :)

Here is the actual house the movie was filmed in. Its in Cleveland about 45 mins north of me. A couple of years ago, someone bought it and restored it back to how it was in the movie and its now a museum of the movie open to the public for tours.....

Thanks for the post.I really enjoy that kind of stuff.Oh and that first snow.I miss that as well. But I dont miss having to go to work in it.

That's really neat HRR. Nice pictures and narrative. If I had too much time and money, I'd probably have a huge collection of that kind of stuff. I like to look at it.

WOW!! What an awesome place, I'd love to be able to see it all.

Keep the snow! I hate cold weather!

Cool...

That's really neat. Wasn't the car an Oldsmobile?

More or less a quote from the movie:

"...you have your Methodists, and you have your Baptists. My dad, he was an Oldsmobile man."

Oldsmobiles forever!
