Oh baby! That would make a cool gasser project. It's a Ford Prefect (4 door Anglia). Anglia front sheetmetal fits right to it. During what is now known as the "gasser wars", the Anglia with it's 90" wheelbase was initially outlawed, but the Prefect with it's 94" wheelbase was class legal. Here's a famous example....................

Come on Bob, you haven't bought a project in what.........a week or two now? You know you WANT THIS CAR! [dr[dr:D:D

Gassers are sooooooooooooo cool, and California isn't all that far from Texas. ( I know, I'm a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad influence.)

Bob, all this talk about a road trip got us excited. My Son Dan has been wanting a vw bug for his next project, and the other night he found one on Craigslist about 3 hours from us. So yesterday we rented a U Haul car trailer and headed out to see if it was worth buying.......it was, and he did.

It's a 63 bug with a very solid body on a 71 pan. All the ones we were seeing near home were rusty but this one only has very minor rust in very easily repaired areas. He plans on building it to drive almost daily, after he gets his RPU done. Plans are to leave the body almost stock, drop the nose, some Porsche polished wheels, and a stroker motor.

Here are some dark pictures of our trip (midnight:D).

Hehe, you might as well finish up Bill, I don't think he ever will.:) No, actually, he is REAL close to getting it done. He's currently building the stereo system in, so that is pretty much the last fabrication he needs to do prior to primer/paint. I also think this new project will speed up the RPU getting on the road as he is anxious to start on the bug, and knows the RPU has to be done first. Maybe he'll be less fussy now and just git er done. :D

I guess Dan won't be needing that RPU then,,,,just send it my way so I can finish it up.:D

Don,
I can't wait to see how Dan finishes the VW & how Gastrick finishes the RPU! [ddd
