So I looked into getting some old cables but might as well be gold. 4 gauge soft copper cables work the best but 6 gauge works, the key is they have to be the soft copper cables. Thing to remember is you end up with 4" of drop (16" cable will do a 12" finish cable.
I'll throw this out there. If you have a old cable you want done PM me for my address. Slap your old cable in a box with $25 and I'll braid it and ship it back to you.

that is really cool but I don't think it"s a new idea, they used to make flat ground straps like that years ago. I think I've seen then on cars from the forty's that were around here and I know I found some when cleaning out some of my old relative's garages after they had passed. I'll bet you can't find em to buy now and they wouldn't be the right length. it's a great idea to make your own and to the length you need.
