ok, all you young bucks settle down, i'm talking about a 69 mercury cougar. a buddy just picked one up and last week we replaced the rear leaf springs with new stock units. this thing was sagging down at the back, and even with the new springs it's still low in the ass end. we jacked up the body till it sat level and had to raise the rear bumper 5" untill it looked right. so here's the question; did these things sit low in the back from the factory?? i think maybe someone changed the front coils at one time raising the front, causing the back to look to low. so all you ford guys, do you remember how they looked in stock form? level or saggy ass???

Should sit the same as a same year Mustang. They share the same suspension parts. It may have been a big block at one time, My uncles 68 XR7 was a 390 and is now a 351.

Check out Carnut, There are a few pictures of some stock looking 69's on the site. Most look pretty level. Sniper

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of this would you?

so i was messing around today and dummied up some shackles 3" longer than stock, it brought the rear bumper up 2 1/2" and the front down 3/4". but it's still not right, so we've got some custom leaf's comming with a bigger arch and a set of 2" drop coils. i'll use the stock shackles and we'll see how it sits then

these pics are with the longer 'dummy' shackles, dosen't look right to me....

I used to have one (not as nice though) and it sat about the same as your friends' does. It looks like it is a pretty clean car, good find.
