You got that right... calves are cheap right now! Gonna breed my girls with a Hereford bull... that gives you a white face black cow... Black Baldy! They sell for more $$$ here in Tejas!

Black baldy cows (herford/angus) here too but still a few small herds of straight herfords. Good luck on those longhorns, dad tried that cross a few years ago and the calves didn't sell as good because it takes more feed to finish them out. And those longhorn cows are snuffy. Calf market has rallied a little this year.

Tell me! We butchered one in March & are still eating it... best hamburger & summer sausage you've ever eaten. After all costs including the cow it came out to $1.97 lb! Can't beat that!!!
