I just braced up my cab to cut the bottom off 4" then plan on a 6" channel to hide all of the stock frame, I asked about this in my build thread but got no response.

Is 4" off the bottom & a 6" channel too much?

I gotta cut the floor board out anyway & 4" will do that and take all the rust away.

10 inches is alot, but it depends on what you are going for. Another way of going at it is to put your floor pan under your rails. 4 inches off the bottom seems about right.

I cut the 4" off the bottom and I'm really happy with the height, I like your idea putting the floor under the frame but the frame is so much narrower than the cab. Maybe I could widen the frame in the cab area so the frame rails will be up against the sides of the cab.

Hey BoneHead

I agree 10" is huge in the whole scheme of things...I am working thru my nightmare and all I did was 12" "Z" to the frame and it is so low now I get all cramped up on it when I work on it. I left my inside of my cab stock (1953 Chevy truck)..and I have to say working inside of that cab, it is tight. I couldnt imagine loosing 10" of vertical height inside. Not sure how it would feel all cramped up inside once you were trying to drive it. Maybe I am just too old and too practical...I would think about it from a driveability standpoint thats all..
just my 2 cents
