Differences between GB truck brakes '01 to 03

I'm considering using GM truck brakes on a '37 Buick. Consumer reports shows a marked improvement on reliability of the brakes on all full size GM trucks and SUVs between '01 and '03. Does anyone know what changes were made to the brakes systems? It could be rotors, pads, calipers, master cyl or ????
I will be most interested in 1500 2wd with disc all around
