This place was a working yard until the early 60s and was just forgot about.
Dam shame some of the 100s of cars in there weren't taken out about 20 years ago. The guy that own's it now will sell anything but thinks it is a gold mine when really there is very little left. Tons of SS trim but he is very proud of it. But it was fun walking around all day in it and I only got to about 1/3 of it.

What a fool. He coulda made a lot of money off that stuff is his prices were sensible. Did he tell you he's 'gonna get around to mowing down all those trees someday'?

Well Sam, he really couldn't care less about the cars. There are tons and I do meen TONS of old very large construction equipment laying around there also, some of it going back to the 20s, cranes, graders, trucks, tankers, steam rollers you name it, its there and it will be heading for scrap money. I don't know what iron is worth but he has over 50 acers of it. There might be millions piled up I don't know. He is willing to sell anything you want but sets his price high and will not move a dime off it.

Lots of neat useable stuff there, not a new story how some guys think it's worth big bucks - truth is in the end he'll just bring in a squisher and get scrap price. Another sad ending...........:(

He probably gets an occasional guy that pays the stupid price and thinks he's doing good. If he just collected it all for the heck of it, he's still kind of a fool for not knowing how to enjoy it with others. He could probably charge 5$ a head for a stroll through an outdoor car museum.

Our only old car junk yard was just sold.I am sure the crusher is coming soon.Sure hate to see it go.It has been my source for used parts all my life.It is like losing an old friend.
The greed of scrap prices sure infects a lot of people.:(
I am keeping the parts cars I have.I am not a greedy person.I had rather have the parts than a few hundred bucks.:)

The wrecking yard in my town is also crushing classic cars and trucks. the other day I saw a '51 Chev pickup truck on top of the crush pile and when I inquired about it the owner said" It's worth more to me in scrap prices than paying someone to part it out" :( That mentality really sucks!!

I was looking for trim for my 52 chevy, what I really wanted was the short quarter spears from a 49 to 52 Pontiac, I found at least 8 sets some off them just falling off the rusted hulk of what was a car at one time. Took a pic of one and showed the guy and he wanted $100.00 each for them:eek:
Needless to say I didn't get them:(

i say if some sheepdip thinks his trashed cars are worth big money.
he can keep em and i hope he gets tetanus.
i am real tired of these jerks who think i am going to personally pay for that new bassboat they want so bad.
i see cool old steel all the time for reasonable prices
so i will turn and rudely walk away midsentence if they start acting like junk is gold.

My phone just deleated a lengthy reply so I'm gonna keep this short. Guys sounds like a jerk and scrap is down and will be til after the election.
