I'm working on my steering set up and thinking about ditching the rag joint to stream line things. Anybody do it? Is it bearable? Not much of a problem? I'm asking for opinions how ya'll liked it or not. Setting it up without it is so simple on this one that I'm tempted to. If it's likely to really affect the comfort much, I'll go another route. Thanks for any input...

Cars and trucks didn't even use rag joints until about 68 when collapsible steering columns came into existence....

Thanks guys. I didn't really think it would be a big issue but I couldn't think of any better advice than somebody who has tried. Sure makes my deal simple and clean looking for this rig..I'm stoked...I'll get more pix soon on my build thread.
Thanks again...

I replaced the rag in my 38 with the u-joints from a Astro Van shaft. I had to use a length of d-rod and a section of the original tube to make a sleeve. Came out slick. It is even enough out of phase to compensate for the compound angle needed to get from the 38 cab to the s-10 steering gear. No hard spots in the steering at all.
