:(:([SI was wondering if I needed a horn relay to make my horn work poroperly. Rat rod A and I have wired it from scratch. forgot about the horn til the brainfart cleared, now am "licking that calf again" Help if you can. thanks
 
Horns generally take a fair amount of power to operate, they can damage or burn out the contacts within the switch with the heavy draw, that's why they use a relay. The relay is heavy enough to handle the load, and the light duty switch (horn button) only needs to control the relay which takes little power to activate. Short answer....yep, should have a horn relay.:)
