Do I need a sender for a ST 602 Sun Tach?

Howdy
I'm not exactly sure but think this is an ST 602 Sun Tach from the late 1960's. Do I need a sender for it? It has a red yellow and green wire together in a single light brown casing and a separate gray wire. There is no tag externally on the back.

Yeah Cheers Mate I took the cup off and it's a direct wire type. Easy
