Good Idea - Bad Idea
Slowly been pecking away at things, and have been thinking about finalizing the steering design. Using '40 round back spindles, I know I can just buy bolt on dropped steering arms. Also I have seen pictures of people modifying the stock arms, a stretch and drop essentially.
I have a simple jig in mind that would allow me to fairly easily allow me to drop the steering arm, just add heat. Would drop the drag link mount straight down to somewhat maintain the stock geometry. I've searched around a bit and have not found too much info. I do know the proper ways of heating slow and cool even slower.
I figure worse case if I do it, it doesn't work and I cut them off and buy a bolt on pair, and be out a few hours of my time with $40 of steel. So since my time ain't worth much, is it worth the $40, or just a bad idea.
