we used to watch movies and see them loose a hub cap and then its back on ... saw a movie the other night thunderbolt and lightfoot ... they flipped the car (which was a cool odd car ) and it slung the back wheel off ,,,well it landed up right and then they got back in it and left with it .. but the show was interesting because I never seen it before ..

Is that the car with the crazy guy and the rabbits?

i always wanted to see weaver get in front of that guy in the truck far enough to pull over
and when the truck comes around the corner
empty a cylinders worth of 44 mag into the drivers side of the windshield[ddd

I remember watching that movie years ago and thinking how hokey it was back then. That big Pete could have pushed the car off in the ditch without a problem, big mass vs smaller mass = big mass coming out on top. Never actually done it, but been a few times I'd liked to push some SOB off into the bushes myself. [ddd Just have to remember to overlook fools and idiots

I thought the same thing. But even worse, is why did the dipwad keep always going the same direction as the truck. He could have easily turned around and went back. But then it wouldn't have been a movie??? The movie is silly at best but I love the truck and they did have it repowered to go 95. Different storys have it powered by a small cam NTC 350 turbo or a 320.

Watched for awhile myself. McCloud woulda jump up on the truck, climbed to the front, and wrestled the driver into submission.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot car full of rabbits scene is a classic! That car is the poster child for "skyjacked".

I loved that movie when it first came out, and some time ago I watched it again. The acting, and the production were really not all the great, especially this time around, but it was still cool to watch.

They actually cast Weaver perfectly in this role, he played a guy who was pretty whimpy but who was able to triumph in the end. When the truck was going over the cliff and made those possessed sounds, it was like a demon had been killed.

Anyone remember that other movie where all the trucks became possessed and trapped those people in some diner ? They kept circling the diner all day.........very weird movie !

Typical 70's made for TV movie.
Try rewatching the California Kid. If it wasn't for the cars I would have shut it off after 5 mins.
My favorite was a TV movie called Hot Rod . Had a very nice Willys coupe in it.
And BTW....The Duel was directed by none other than Steven Spielberg of Jaws-ET and a millon$$$$ others fame......
Torchie.
